Abstract
The pathology of 6 cases of fulminating rheumatic carditis has been studied, with 3 non-rheumatic hearts as controls. Evidence is presented that the Aschoff body is a diseased lymphatic channel. Damage to the myocardium and impairment of its function are secondary to an obstructive lymphangitis. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
