Abstract
Synthesis of a basal lamina was observed in monolayer cultures of rabbit corneal endothelium. This material resembles Descemet membrane in appearance, staining properties, and collagen content. This communication demonstrates, for the first time, the in vitro production of a Descemet-like basal lamina by corneal endothelial cells. Keywords
