Isoantibodies to Human Pancreas: A Preliminary Report

Abstract
One hundred and forty-two diabetics, 163 blood bank donors, ten patients with carcinoma of the pancreas, ten patients with chronic pancreatitis, six patients with acute pancreatitis, and a number of patients with miscellaneous diagnoses were tested for evidence of isoanti-bodies to thepancreas using the tanned cell hemagglutination technic as de-scribed by Boyden, the test tubeprecipitinmethod, the Ouchterlony gel-diffusion method or a combination of these. None showed isoantibodies to pooled human pancreas. Further investigation of this problem is warranted.
