Abstract
Two aerobic mesophilic microbial species of a new genus belonging to the family Streptomycetaceae of the order Actinomycetales are described under the name MICROTETRASPORA (MICROTETRASPORA glauca., type species). ThE microorganisms produce a filamentous growth which is differentiated into a vegetative and an aerial mycelium. The new genus is characterized by the formation of a short and sparsely branched aerial mycelium bearing chains of 4 spores at the end of short sporophores. Sporulation is not observed to take place on the vegetative mycelium. The genus MICROTETRASPORA is widely distributed in the soil. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
