Abstract
The magnetostatic self-energy is calculated for a finite, ferromagnetic, right-circular cylinder, which has no volume charge, and a constant surface-charge density on the top and bottom ends. For the side of the cylinder, the charge density is assumed to be given by a (finite or infinite) power series in z, except for an adjustable strip in which the magnetization is already saturated so that the charge there vanishes. The result is expressed as a series of functions for which a recurrence relation is given.
