Abstract
A commercially available hollow cathode emission source is modified in order to improve its applicability. Its main advantages consist in the practical prevention of short circuits, variable distances between cathode and anode, and the possibility of visual observation of the discharge. The lamp was satisfactorily tested with aluminium, copper and graphite cathodes. Keywords
