Abstract
Pediatric abdominal CT [computed tomography] often has to be performed outside a children''s hospital. Without careful planning, the examination can be unrewarding and full of snags. A technique avoiding these conditions is outlined. Some of the problems of whole body CT are discussed. The examination was of greatest value in children with extensive retroperitoneal and pelvic masses. In these circumstances it may be used for diagnosis and treatment follow-up and the benefits it provides justify any increased radiation to the patient. This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
