Abstract
Three different design options for closed-circuit evaporative cooler cores are compared by way of numerical examples obtained with the use of computer programs written for the three cases. It is concluded that bare-tube cooler performance can be considerably enhanced by the judicious use of fill material without resorting to the use of fins to increase the mass transfer area. Keywords
