Forbidden Transition Probabilities for Some P, S, Cl and A Ions

Abstract
The transition probabilities for 3 p q configurations have been calculated for forbidden lines. The disagreement between previous theoretical computations of relative strengths for these transitions and the results reported here is primarily due to the fact that in our wave functions exchange interactions were included and each of the term wave functions in the ground configuration was calculated. Transitions probabilities were calculated for P I , P II , S I , S II , S III , Cl II , Cl III , Cl IV , A III , A IV , and A V . The results of the new theoretical transition probabilities were used to calculate T e and N e with the line intensities obtained from observations of the bright planetary NGC 7027.
