Abstract
The dynamic range of streak cameras with P855 and Photochron II tubes at various pulse duration and wavelengths is reported. Values recorded with 8 ps pulses were about 400 for Photochron II tubes and about 150 for P855 tubes. A spread in electron transit times between grid and phosphor caused by space charge is suggested as a possible mechanism for temporal broadening in the Photochron II.Keywords
