Negative Ions of N2O and CO2

Abstract

Temporary negative ions of N₂O and CO₂ are important in several processes. Recent experiments have given much information about these ions. For N₂O⁻ the shapes of the potential‐energy surfaces for the three lowest states can be inferred from the available experimental information. For CO₂⁻ two alternative sets of surfaces are consistent with the present knowledge.
