Abstract
Reflux associated with infection has been shown to play a major etiologic role in chronic pyelonephritis among children; most such children are eventually found to have a predisposing congenital abnormality. An individualized approach, based on careful x-ray evaluation and grading of the reflux, helps in deciding whether the problem should be managed nonoperatively as well as in deciding whether and when to operate. Keywords
