Abstract
The description of E. rostratum was amended to include the range of conidial measurements that were reported. A new species, Setosphaeria rostrata, the ascigerous state of E. rostratum, was described. The ascigerous state was induced by growing compatible isolates at 4.degree. C for 1-3 mo. before mating them under constant light at 20.degree. C. S. rostrata is heterothallic. Isolates that formed only elliptical conidia (previously designated E. halodes) crossed with isolates that formed rostrate conidia (E. rostratum). Progeny included both parental types as well as intermediates.
