Abstract
In isolated rat‐liver mitochondria the rate of citrulline synthesis from glutamine does not respond to changes in the ammonia concentration in the extramitochondrial fluid. This suggest that ammonia, produced in the mitochondria via glutaminase, is directly channeled to carbamoyl‐phosphate synthetase. Keywords
