Abstract
Slices of adrenal cortex consisting of fragments of capsule, zona glomerulosa, and a strip of fasciculata have a higher rate of O2 consumption in vitro than do slices of zona fasciculata and reticularis. The addition of 2.5 mg. of ACTH stimulated the rate of O2 consumption by both slices, the percentile increases being 22.6 and 19.8, respectively. Keywords
