Abstract
The observation that patients with human papillomavirus (HPV) 16–associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma have a better prognosis may define these patients as having a distinct subset of head and neck cancers.1,2 These findings have provided an opportunity to investigate how the biological differences of HPV-positive and -negative patient cohorts influence disease progression and outcomes. Keywords
