Continuous and discrete structure in the T1I absorption spectrum from 20 to 150 A associated with excitation of the 4f subshell

Abstract
Observations of discrete structure and of a very broad transmission window due to excitation of the 4f-subshell in T1I are reported. Correctionsare made to previous estimates of 4f binding energies for Z = 79- 81, and the consequences of the corrections for the interpretation of 4f photoionization curves are discussed in the framework of recent theory.
