Carbon–hydrogen activation chemistry: hydroxylation of C2, C3, and cyclo-C6hydrocarbons by manganese cluster catalysts with a mono-oxygen transfer reagent

Abstract
Manganese clusters, Mn3–4O1–2LxLy(Lx= RCO2 ; Ly= pyridine or 2,2′-bipyridine), are novel catalysts that can convert C–H bonds to C–OH bonds in C2, C3, and cyclo-C6 hydrocarbons in the presence of t-butyl hydroperoxide as the mono-oxygen transfer reagent.
