Abstract

Manganese clusters, Mn_3–4O_1–2L_xL_y(L_x= RCO₂ ^–; L_y= pyridine or 2,2′-bipyridine), are novel catalysts that can convert C–H bonds to C–OH bonds in C₂, C₃, and cyclo-C₆ hydrocarbons in the presence of t-butyl hydroperoxide as the mono-oxygen transfer reagent.
