Fibre dispersion compensation using a chirped in-fibre Bragg grating

Abstract
A linearly chirped in-fibre Bragg grating has been used to compensate for the pulse broadening arising from negative group-delay dispersion in singlemode optical fibre. Numerical simulations of the fibre and the Bragg grating produce good agreement with the experiment.
