Branching Ratios forY1*(1755)

Abstract

A study of the reactions $K^{-}p\to \Lambda {\pi }^0$, $\overline{K}N$, ${\Sigma }^{\pm }{\pi }^{\mp }$, ${Y_1}^{*}{\mathrm{}\left(1385\right)\mathrm{}}^{\pm }{\pi }^{\mp }$, and ${Y_0}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1520\right)\mathrm{} {\pi }^0$ has been made and the fraction proceeding through the formation of ${Y_1}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1755\right)\mathrm{}$ estimated. The total ${Y_1}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1755\right)\mathrm{}$ resonant cross section is found to ge 12.5±1.2 mb and the resonant cross sections into $\Lambda {\pi }^0$, $\overline{K}N$, ${Y_1}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1385\right)\mathrm{}\pi$, ${Y_0}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1520\right)\mathrm{}{\pi }^0$, and ${\Sigma }^{\pm }{\pi }^{\mp }$ are 2.2±0.17, 6.7±1.0, 1.7±0.6, 1.85±0.22, and ${Y_1}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1755\right)\mathrm{}$ cannot be a member of {10}, ${\mathrm{}\left\{10\right\}\mathrm{}}^{*}$, and {27} $\mathrm{SU}\left(3\right)\mathrm{}$ multiplets. The results are consistent with assigning ${Y_1}^{*}\mathrm{}\left(1755\right)\mathrm{}$ to an {8} with a mixing parameter $\alpha$ such that $-0.3<\alpha <-0.1\mathrm{}$.
