Abstract
The identity of apiin from celery with that from parsley was established by comparative paper chromatographic studies of the cleavage products after partial and complete hydrolysis. Apigenin, glucose and apiose were found. Glucose and apiose were identified also by their osazones. In addition to apiin celery seeds contain luteolin glucoside and a third glucoside which appears to be the glucoside of luteolin methyl ether.
