Superconducting magnet suspension systems—persistent mode operation

Abstract

The lift force generated by a rectangular superconducting magnet operating in the constant flux (persistent mode) and moving over an infinite conducting plane is derived from the lift equation for such a magnet operating in a constant current mode.
