THE DIRECT DETERMINATION OF THE RENAL BLOOD FLOW AND RENAL OXYGEN CONSUMPTION OF THE UNANESTHETIZED DOG

Abstract
The renal blood flow and 02 consumption of unanes-thetized dogs was detd. by a canulation procedure in which the approach to the renal veins is made via the external jugular vein [see B. A. 11(5): entry 11160]. The renal blood flow averaged 21.1 cc. per kg. body weight. The renal oxygen consumption averaged 5 cc. per min. per kidney.
