Fluxon Observation Using a Josephson Sampler

Abstract
A single fluxon and a bundle of fluxons propagating on a Josephson transmission line are observed by means of the direct coupled Josephson sampler. The half width of the observed pulse is less than 10 ps, and is 6.0 ps under an optimum condition. It is found that the number of fluxons can be controlled by a dc bias current biased at the edge of the transmission line.
