Abstract
The shaded pole motor is considered the most popular type of single phase induction motor in the small fractional horsepower range, and is widely used for driving fans. The general forms of construction are outlined in this paper, in which the equations for this type of motor are derived and the performance characteristics are discussed.Keywords
