Abstract
Despite more than 30 years of clinical trials, uncertainty still exists regarding the optimal use of antihypertensive drugs in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD).1-3 Several classes of pharmacological agents have shown benefits in patients with CAD, but most studies enrolled patients with an elevated or borderline blood pressure. Recent clinical trials have demonstrated benefits for both angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and calcium channel blockers in patients with CAD with relatively normal or borderline blood pressures.4-6Keywords
