Some Improvements for the Analytical Ultracentrifuge

Abstract

Convection boundaries caused by small irregularities in the analytical ultracentrifuge cell are described and polishing of the sector walls is recommended. Accurate alignment of the cell in the rotor may be accomplished by a slot and pin arrangement without materially decreasing the strength of the rotor. An adaptation of Longsworth's scanning method to the analytical ultracentrifuge is described.
