Exchange Potential for Electrons in Atoms and Solids

Abstract
The Hartree-Fock exchange potential for a uniform degenerate electron gas is adapted for use in atomic and solid-state calculations. Results are given for argon and mercury atoms. Energy eigenvalues are quite close to the Hartree-Fock values.Keywords
