Abstract
In starvation, dogs drink about 1/2 the quantity of water they drink during alimentation, but their total water intake is only about 1/5-1/3 normal. Subcutaneous injection of 0.5 mgm. pilocarpine per kgm. results in an increase in the volume of water taken on the day of the injection.
