Abstract
A study of the Kimihia Block was carried out using 31 non-area plots to sample the vegetation. After analysis, four definite groups of vegetation, identified on their past history of fire and presence or absence of podocarps, were obtained. One other group was identified due to its location in a swamp. Substantial damage by animals was revealed in large areas of the block, especially in the north and west portions where the combined deleterious effects of cattle and opossums were considerable. Soil profiles were also recorded within several plots.
