Abstract
The phase-shift analysis of - elastic scattering is modified by using peripheral values for the phase shifts for values corresponding to impact parameters greater than the nuclear radius. We observe a marked improvement in the weighted variance. We obtain a value of about 2.2 for the normalization of the tail of the wave function.
