Magnetic After-Effect in Iron due to Motion of Dislocations

Abstract
The magnetic after-effect in iron at high temperatures due to motion of dislocations is investigated. The specimens, consisting of a few large crystals, are examined, some after a careful annealing and some after a small plastic deformation. The intensity of the after-effect is measured as the horizontal displacement (viscosity field) between two magnetization curves: one taken immediately after demagnetization, and the other taken a long time later.
