Abstract
A. actinomycetemcomitans as the sole infecting organism in sub-acute bacterial endocarditis is a rare condition. This is the 3rd case to be reported. Proper identification of the morphologically similar Hemophilus aphrophilus and A. actinom ycetemcomitans is dependent on special fermentation studies. The antibacterial agents employed against A. actinomycetemcomitans were effective in controlling the infection. In spite of this the patient succubed to congestive heart failure due to rheumatic aortic stenosis. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
