Enhancement of Hemolytic Activity of Complement by Polyethylene Glycols.

Abstract

The presence of 4% of carbowax-400 permits the use of only 50% of the amt. of complement otherwise required. While mechanism is unknown, there is a possibility that this effect may be related to the mutual solubility with the lipoid content of erythrocyte membranes.
