Experiments on nutrition. IX

Abstract
Pigeons were observed for a period of 26 weeks on diets containing fish meal and white flour together with varying amounts of pulses and nuts. With 4% of dried yeast in the ration as a standard of 100, it was found that 30-40% of several varieties of beans and peas had a relative vitamin B value of 10-13; 20% hazel nuts and peanuts a value of 20; other varieties only half this value on a 40% level. Green coffee contained a trace, but maintenance was not possible on roasted coffee or on coconut.
