Abstract
To the Editor: Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans are the most common pathogens causing fungal disease in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).1 , 2 To date, infection with Coccidioides immitis has not been reported, which is surprising in view of the pervasiveness of this organism in parts of California. We now describe a case of disseminated C. immitis in a patient with AIDS.A 30-year-old white homosexual man was evaluated in the AIDS Clinic at San Francisco General Hospital in October 1983. He had a history of hepatitis B infection, syphilis, Condyloma acuminatum infection, Endolimax nana infection, and 14 months . . .Keywords
