Abstract

The aluminium enolate derived from (η⁵-C₅H₅)Fe(CO)(PPh₃)(COMe) undergoes stereoselective aldol condensations with aldehydes to generate β-hydroxy acyl complexes which yield β-hydroxy acids on decomplexation.
