Abstract
A number of angular distributions of protons from the reaction Li7(d, p)Li8 have been measured for a range of incident deuteron energies below 2.5 Mev. These agree remarkably well with a simple form of Butler-Born stripping theory, uncorrected for Coulomb and nuclear effects. A description is given for this unusual agreement in terms of the small Q value, -0.188 Mev, for the reaction.
