Abstract
Summary and conclusions Newborn rats are susceptible to infection and death by herpes simplex virus administered by many routes. When the virus is admitted intradermally a segmental skin eruption resembling herpes zoster develops. Hepatitis and encephalitis also occur. The etiologic role of herpes simplex virus in these skin and visceral lesions was demonstrated by neutralization and fluorescent antibody studies. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
