Abstract
The Purkinje fibers differ from other cardiac muscle in having a capacity of synthesizing sudanophilic fat when incubated in media consisting of serum or serum fortified with oleic acid. This capacity of the Purkinje fibers is similar to that which has been described under the heading of aberrant lipogenesis for certain other types of tissues. Keywords
