Cadmium diffusion in magnesium oxide at high temperatures

Abstract
Measurements of the tracer diffusion of Cd2+ in single-crystal magnesium oxide have been made over the temperature range 1800°–2300°C using a serial sectioning technique. Results are believed to represent intrinsic diffusion by a vacancy mechanism and can be described by the Arrhenius equation where k is Boltzmann's constant and errors are derived from a least squares analysis of the data.
