Abstract
Infrared absorption bands attributable to the localized vibrational modes of pair defects of Al with the elements Cu, Ag, and Au in ZnSe have been observed. A comparison with CdTe containing these same impurities shows some major similarities in the defect structures. The proposed defects for ZnSe, their point‐group symmetries, and the vibrational frequencies in cm−1 at 80 °K are as follows: AlZn, Td, 359; AlZn‐CuZn, Cs, 348, 351.5, 377; AlZn‐Agi or AlZn‐AgSe, C3v, 349.5, 381; AlZn‐AuZn, Cs, 345, 348, 381. The dopants Cu, Ag, and Au were introduced by saturation diffusions into ZnSe:Al.This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
