Abstract
The absorption energy and ground state are analyzed for the center in 16 alkali halides, using a point-ion lattice with ion-size correction, and including lattice distortion. -center localization and point-ion model energies ignoring ion size and lattice distortion depend on nearest-neighbor distances qualitatively as one would expect.
