Abstract
Zr foil (0.001 inches) and plate (0.015 inches) were used to cover dural openings and to repair calvarial defects, respectively, in a total of 11 dogs. At intervals of 12-171 days after operation, sacrificed dogs showed no evidence of bone absorption, inflammation, or extrusion of the metal. Heat-hardened Zr produced results identical with those following use of the soft metal. Keywords
