Abstract
The hydrodynamic Maxwell equations of continuous media, valid for large amplitudes and small frequencies, are derived. As any hydrodynamic theory, these equations are universal, nonlinear, and irreversible. Consequences for dielectric liquids, ferrofluids, superconductors, and nematic liquid crystals are briefly outlined. Keywords
