Tests with Dow ET-57 and Bayer 21/199 Against Cattle Grubs in Southwest Louisiana

Abstract
Five herds of cattle in southwest Louisiana were treated in mid-June, mid-July, and mid-August with Dow ET-57 and Bayer 21/199 for control of the cattle grub Hypoderma lineatum. Dow ET-57 was used at 100 mg/kg of body-weight. Bayer 21/199 was applied as a wettable powder spray at the rate of 1/2 gallon per animal at concentrations of 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75%. Effective grub control was obtained from all dates of treatment and Bayer 21/199 gave effective control at the lowest concentration used.
