Use of Chlorpromazine in the Treatment of Nausea and Vomiting of Uremia

Abstract
NAUSEA and vomiting, which are common complications of uremia, may cause only mild distress or may be of such severity as to create a distinct hazard to the patient. Nausea interferes with proper food intake, and frequently an inadequate, unbalanced diet results. Furthermore, the associated mental and emotional distress may prove most unpleasant to the patient, seriously exhausting him and undermining his ability to resist the disease. Persistent vomiting is dangerous and can lead to serious consequences if not properly and adequately controlled.
