Abstract
Gem‐quality diamonds have been grown with 13C contents up to 89 at. %. First‐ and second‐order Raman spectra of these crystals indicate that the second‐order Raman lines reported for natural diamonds are, indeed, due to carbon lattice modes and not some impurity. Also, the equivalent of a sharp line at 2667 cm−1 in natural diamonds is present in these 13C‐doped crystals. Other findings are reported. Keywords
