Abstract
Equations of motion are derived for the many-body operators associated with local densities of linear and angular momentum. It is illustrated that the transfer equations for orbital and spin angular momentum are formally identical. Finally, an approximate theory is developed for the elastic tensor of diatomic media or media composed of atoms with intrinsic spin.Keywords
