Abstract
Electro-optic and electro-gyration effects in the incommensurate phase of {N(CH3)4}2ZnCl4 were studied by using HAUP. Both coefficients manifest sharp peaks at Tf=18·5 °C in the incommensurate phase. The peak value of the electro-optic coefficient amounts to 105 times as large as those of the ordinary ferroelectrics. Keywords
